8 Step Fall Lips- Mauve

8 Step Fall Lips

Mauve + Pink

Step by step, here's what I did in my Instagram video- and what I didn't have enough time to show you!
These kinds of ombre, gradient, whatever you'd like to call it lips are very in right now, and so are fall lip colors so I figured, why not combine them?

Song in the video is Screen by Twenty One Pilots. Awesome band, check them out!

1. Prime plain lips with a lightweight, minimum coverage concealer (I used Benefit Some Kinda Gorgeous in Medium.)
2. Evenly distribute concealer on the lips.
3. Line lips from the inner corners fanning out with a berry-colored lip liner. Do NOT trace the entire lip. Work from the inner corner and draw a little bit out, creating a gradient. Once lip liner is on, blend with fingertip- leaving the liner darker the closer to the inner corner you blend (I used Essence lipliner in Soft Berry.)
4. Using a darker pink, mauve-ish lipstick, coat the lips. Concentrate the color toward the outermost part of the lips and don't apply any in the inner corners, creating a gradient. Clean up around the lips and blend with the finger tips as needed.
5. Apply as much more lipstick or lipliner as needed to enforce the gradient look.
6. Apply a light pink lip gloss to the outermost part of the lip, where the gradient would naturally be the lightest. (I used NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee.)
7. Blend, clean up, and apply more of any product wherever necessary.
8. Enjoy your fall lip look! Don't waste it on the lid of a pumpkin spice latte. (:

If you're worried about reapplying your lipstick all day, set it with a mist of setting spray or a brush full of setting powder (Which will mattify your look but also keep it on the longest.) I would advise you to bring all three lip products wherever you go that day. If you don't have setting powder, you can use a bit of baby powder but be careful not to ingest it!

xoxo
